CNN anchor launches Donald Trump’s Wild ‘Wolves’ ad: ‘The fact-checking machine is broken’

CNN’s John King cast a scathing look at Donald Trump’s latest 2024 campaign video on Wednesday’s “Inside Politics” show.

The Trump campaign’s attack ad suggested the ‘radical left’ knew GOP frontrunner Trump would ‘crush President Joe Biden in next year’s election and therefore now attack the former president’ like a pack of rabid wolves”.

“Just watching this for the first time, the fact-checking machine is broken,” King joked after watching the clip with CNN correspondent Kristen Holmes.

“There are several things in there that would not pass the test of truth,” he added in a video shared online by Mediaite.

King noted the “interesting” timing of the video’s release, given that Special Counsel Jack Smith is reportedly nearing the conclusion of his criminal investigation into Trump’s mishandling of classified documents after leaving the White House and his role in the January 6 uprising.

The announcement “really appears to be a preemptive strike,” said Holmes, who cited Trump advisers “preparing” for another potential impeachment of the former president.
