A suspect will be arrested in connection with possession of a firearm that was recovered Wednesday near Arden Fair Mall, police said.
The suspect, one of three people who entered a suspect vehicle located once officers arrived at the scene, was detained with K-9 assistance after fleeing on foot, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
Officers located the firearm around 11 a.m. near the 1600 block of Arden Way and were still on scene and investigating as of early Wednesday afternoon.
The suspect is to be arrested for related charges, according to a statement from the department.
