Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers are investigating after a man was fatally shot in downtown Charlotte.
Police were called around 1:30 a.m. Saturday at West Third Street near Truist Field. They found a man who had been shot. He died at the scene, the CMPD said.

It is not known if the police are looking for a suspect.
The investigation into the case is active and ongoing.
