Padma Lakshmi leaves ‘Top Chef’ after 17 years

Bravo will have to prepare a new host of Excellent chef after Padma Lakshmi revealed she was leaving.

Lakshmi, who also produces the show, said she is leaving the cooking show after she turns 20.e season, known as Top Chef: World All-Stars. The show, which has its season finale on June 8, has already been renewed for season 21.

“After much soul-searching, I made the difficult decision to leave. Excellent leader. After completing a glorious 20th season as host and executive producer, I am immensely proud to have been a part of building such a successful show and the impact it has had in the world of television and food,” she wrote on social media.

“After 17 years, many cast and crew are like family to me and I will miss working alongside them dearly. I feel it’s time to move on and I need to make room for taste the nation, my books and other creative pursuits,” she added. “I am deeply grateful to you for so many years of love and support.”

The best chefs 20e The season took place in London and featured 16 of the biggest competitors from iterations of the format around the world.

Lakshmi hosted alongside Chief Justice Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons. It is produced by Magical Elves.

Elsewhere, Lakshmi also hosts Hulu’s taste the nationwhich just aired its second season.
