Asa Hutchinson hasn’t held back in lashing out at his 2024 Republican rival and former President Donald Trump for his claims of a “gunned down” Justice Department.
The former Arkansas governor and 2024 Republican presidential candidate slammed Trump after he claimed he would appoint a special prosecutor to ‘GO AFTER’ President Joe Biden and his ‘CRIME FAMILY’ in a Truth Social article last week.
“It’s called a militarization of the Justice Department,” Hutchinson said on ABC’s “This Week.”
GOP officials have filed lawsuits against federal and state prosecutors in recent months, including in the wake of Trump-related indictments.
Hutchinson, in his Sunday interview, called on other party members to “back off” their attacks on the DOJ.
“Let’s get back to being the party of the rule of law, of the judiciary supporting law enforcement and equal application of the law,” he said.
