Nvidia’s surge didn’t come from retail buyers, says Vanda

Individuals traded $2.5 billion worth of Nvidia’s net worth on Thursday, according to data from Vanda Research. However, overall net purchases from retail investors were only $43 million.

“In general, overall net buying by retail investors has been relatively weak over the past two months, but is slowly recovering,” Giacomo Pierantoni, Vanda’s chief data officer, said in an email. β€œIn options, net buying is close to zero – we are a long way from the speculative frenzy of 2020-21.”
