Nvidia’s surge didn’t come from retail buyers, says Vanda

Individuals traded $2.5 billion worth of Nvidia’s net worth on Thursday, according to data from Vanda Research. However, overall net purchases from retail investors were only $43 million.

“In general, overall net buying by retail investors has been relatively weak over the past two months, but is slowly recovering,” Giacomo Pierantoni, Vanda’s chief data officer, said in an email. “In options, net buying is close to zero – we are a long way from the speculative frenzy of 2020-21.”
