Syracuse incident leaves 13 people shot, stabbed or hit by cars

A serious violent incident in Syracuse, New York, left 13 people shot, stabbed or struck by vehicles, police said.

Local broadcaster WSYR-TV said police responded to emergency calls for a street rally along a block of Davis Street in the city after reports of gunfire .

“Upon arrival, officers found a large gathering in the street. Officers entered the crowd and discovered several victims who had been shot, stabbed or struck by vehicles fleeing the scene after the shots were fired,” the station reported.

The gunshot victims were three women and a man while five women and a man were stabbed. In addition, two women and a man were injured after being run over by vehicles. The ages of all those involved ranged from 17 to 25 years old.

“The investigation is very active and ongoing,” police said in a statement.
