“Thank you for making an impact,” the Gleaners Community Food Bank wrote to the musician on Facebook.
Taylor Swift is spreading joy on her Eras Tour – on stage and beyond.
The 33-year-old musician donated to the Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeast Michigan this week during her two nights at Ford Field in Detroit.
The food bank announced the donation on Friday via Facebook, sharing a quote from Swift herself: “No matter what happens in life, be kind to people.”
“These words ring true today with Taylor’s surprise donation to the Gleaners during his #TSTheErasTour stop in #Detroit,” the social media post continued. “Thank you for making an impact and empowering children and families with nutritious food!”
As the Detroit Free Press reported, the amount of Swift’s donation was not disclosed, but was described as “generous”.
“Taylor Swift’s support for food banks across the country comes at such a critical time for so many emergency food providers – when resources are dwindling and needs are increasing,” said Kristin Sokul, a representative for Gleaners, in a statement to the publication.
“His generosity goes beyond dollars for meals,” Sokul continued. “The space in her heart will allow households in Southeast Michigan to live happier, healthier lives and elevate the important issue of food security so that others who have the ability to help can be inspired by his example The entire Gleaners team is so grateful for this incredible gift.

During her two-night stint in Detroit, Swift performed for hundreds of thousands of adoring fans, including Flavor Flav.
On Friday night, the entertainer shared several photos and videos from his night out at Ford Field, as the rapper joined all the other Swifties in giving the Midnights singer a warm welcome.
Flav, 64, shared his feelings on social media throughout the night and even explained why he decided to wear an all-red cut for the occasion at one point.
“Into my RED (Taylor’s Version) era and make new friends at #TaylorSwift @taylorswift13,” Flav wrote in a tweet alongside a photo of himself sporting a set of bracelets.
“I had to check myself and what version your boy was representing, artists supporting other artists,” he added.
In a tracking clip, Flav picked up his Eras Tour drip and explained that he wasn’t enjoying the show alone either. “THANK YOU to all my new friends, I love my fellow Swifties,” he wrote.
Swift’s tour so far has featured guests like Marcus Mumford, Aaron Dessner, Phoebe Bridgers, Jack Antonoff, Ice Spice and Maren Morris since its opening night in March.
