In September 2021, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that the actress and Sweeting quietly wed in 2020. The couple quietly said “I do” in a secret ceremony held in New York City.
Aduba opened up about her marriage for the first time in an Instagram post that month, while quoting When Harry Met Sally.
“For some of us, it can feel like we spend our whole lives waiting for someone special. My heart, my love – I’m so happy that my life started last year with you. You you’re the best thing that ever happened to me,” she wrote.
Aduba recently reflected on the mothers in her life past and present in a Mother’s Day Instagram post.
“Happy and beautiful Mother’s Day to all the mothers. I honor you all. I was blessed with an amazing mother who I am truly grateful to have had, here, for so many remarkable years. I wish we could have had more, seen more together in the physical, but I know we share and create so many new memories together in the spiritual,” she wrote.
“God bless each of you who do this work, both those born to you and those chosen. I hope you get the chance to enjoy your very special and deserved day. I love you so much, Mom Thank you for being such a good mother to me. Love, your Zozo. 💜💜.”
